Logierait Curling Pond

We missed the worst of the rain in Perth by heading north for our walk. This is the disused curling pond in Logierait Wood. It was strange to stand on the mat of vegetation at the edge of the pond, and feel it gently moving on the water below.

Part of our walk crossed the controversial new forest road to Duntanlich baryte mine. It's huge, with wide clearings on each side. The old track for our waymarked path was blocked at one point by tree stumps and rocks dumped from the new road above. It rather gave the lie to the prominent Considerate Constructors banners!
