In Search of the IPhone

L left her iPhone on the car before we left for the cinema on our day off - went to see Ford v Ferrari - really well done film - probably up for some Oscar nominations I suspect. Anyway, the phone obviously fell off somewhere, got run over and then a Chinese gentleman who didn’t speak a word of English picked it up and took it home. Find My IPhone app led us to this address in Grapevine where we knocked on the door and spoke to a younger Chinese guy who denied all knowledge of the missing phone even though I showed him on my phone that it was in his house! Eventually his father came to the door and after unintelligible toing and froing in one of the Chinese languages, the older gentleman went off to fetch the phone which was badly damaged by having been run over by a car. Trip to the Apple store and a new phone later for the price of a new screen and we picked up a slice of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory to eat while we watched His Dark Materials
