The Future Looks Bright

I was happy to get the children's pagoda drawings on display yesterday. They did such a good job on those. I wish there was some way I could display the work they did about the Dalai Lama yesterday, too. Such intelligent questions they wrote for him, mostly concerning issues such world peace, global warming, environmental degradation, poverty, hunger and bullying. Their attempts to answer some of those questions from the Dalai Lama's perspective were also incredibly heartening. It gives one great hope that the 21st century will be an improvement on the 20th; dialogue instead of bloodshed. Like the sorin on top of the pagoda, we will go on to parinirvana.

We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of music, dance, singing and art today as we watched this year's Arts Showcase. Such an incredible array of talented children we have in our school. When I see them, I feel confident that the future is in very good hands.
