Quotes for Practice

Every practice for the last seven years, I have given the team a quote, a poem, a funny, something at the end of our day. Lao Tzu, a Chinese proverb, some old guy off the nightly news, our favorite, William Stafford, Bob Dylan, Jack Kerouac, Phil Jackson. The kids expect them now, so I will keep handing them out. By season’s end, I find these random little scraps of paper all over, scattered from hither to yon. A small reminder of where we have been in this basketball season.
