Istanbul.

I took Jeff out for a meal to a local restaurant in the village. Istanbul, I’ve been wanting to try it since it opened a few years ago! It’s well decorated with several fez’s positioned on the walls. We don’t tend to go out to eat much round here as we’re so spoilt when we go up to Manchester, but this was my treat with my first state pension payment. It felt very authentic, and the food tasted like it was home made, which was nice. What was funny was the amount of times Tommy Cooper was mentioned as people came in through the door. I don’t think there is anyone of a certain age that doesn’t associate a fez with Tommy!

Brisk walk home in the cold and back in time to watch ‘I’m a Celebrity’.
