Early morning light

Today’s my birthday and I started it with a few early morning shots from the top of our houseboat on Halong Bay. The sun didn’t really appear through the clouds but we had a 6.30 am kayak excursion around a few of the peaks in a quieter area. Lovely to experience the water from this level and at such a quiet tranquil time of day. It was then back to the houseboat for breakfast and a cruise back to the main area. A coach back to Hanoi and then the overnight train to Hue. An interesting experience sleeping in a bunker bed fortunately we both had the ground berth as our companions were much younger. I managed to sleep and we all woke about the same time to a countryside view of rice fields, trees, buffalo, egrets and small houses. A red sunrise greeted us.
