Work, Rest, Play : : Elephants
It's a bit of a stretch, but I do think these elephants represent all three. The one on the left is clearly carrying a load (in our case usually Christmas ornaments or flowers), but I have seen working elephants in Thailand. The elephant in the middle looks like it is having fun spraying water on its back, and the one on the right is clearly resting. They are an oddly assorted lot acquired in a variety of different ways but they have taken up residence on the top shelf of our library bookcases between John's and my diplomas. (Now that was work!)
It's been a crazy day and we have started getting notices from the power company that they will probably turn off our power on Wednesday and Thursday. The roofers have finished and done a splendid job of cleaning up. All that remains is for the electrician to come tomorrow to install the inverter for the solar panels, the power from which will go straight to the power company just in time for them to turn the power off. What is wrong with this picture?
We're working on a solution but it certainly won't come before Wednesday. And it will no doubt be expensive. Everybody has a theory about what needs to be done about rescuing PG&E including consumer ownership. As one of the county supervisors said, "If you're not at the table, you're on the menu...."
