Snoozing
Woke up to a power outage, so we got ready in the dark for our trip home. We left ourselves some extra time because of the heavy rain yesterday that left lots of water on the roads. It was still raining and driving conditions weren't great (see extra), but we got the ferry in plenty of time. This guy was having a snooze.
By the time we got home and unpacked, it was time to make supper. A long day and I was ready for a snooze myself!
Volleyball update: the team lost the final home game, 3 sets to 1. The girls were in every set and could have won but just couldn't finish. Kalyn played well, led in blocks and was second in kills. It was wonderful to see the 6 senior players walk in before the game with their parents and other significant others and be introduced to the crowd. A great crowd there was, too. After the game, there was a reception with drinks, pizza, and cake. The coach talked about each player, how she met and recruited her, how her skills had developed, and what she had contributed to the team. Emotional for them all. I'm happy that we've been able to watch the team for two years now and look forward to Kalyn's next three years.
Two more away games in Idaho and Washington and still a chance that they could make the playoffs. It will be down to the wire. Hoping they do!
I'm behind on commenting and replying and will catch up soon.
