Talking About Birds

Dear Diary,

I finished my needle felted owl yesterday.  It is a full size baby owl, an "owlet".  It is the first critter I've done with needle felted eyes and I used a special wax to smooth and shape the beak.  Owls eyes are fixed so to look around it has to swivel its head and "Ollie" can do that too.  His head can turn back and forth.  That was something new for me, moving parts!  I must say, my fingers are giving a bit of trouble, arthritis I suspect, so it takes some time to get them to do what I want them to do.  It's worth it though to end up with this cute little fellow!
