Skylark on high .....

before a thunder & lightning storm, together with huge hailstones, hit the hills. Yes I got fairly wet, but managed to get down to the road and hitched a ride back to my car at Evans Pass. I was lucky, as following the above, a second blast hit. I was in a Lyttelton café at the time, having got wary about all the non-stop thunder & lightning; I'd taken shelter. A cyclone hit Christchurch, injuring some people, and sending roofs and rubbish flying everywhere. Wasn't I lucky to have got off that hill!

And I think I was very lucky to get some reasonable images of a skylark flying. He's very pretty in flight. You might have to go Large to see more detail. I've already cropped the image.
