Wonder

There is a very slow-growing Japanese maple in a big brown glazed ceramic pot outside the dining room window. This time of year it's pretty much a nicely shaped stick in the ground, but there are starting to be tiny little unfurlings at the ends of the branches. These maple keys look just like the real thing, but they are so tiny that it's hard to believe they came out right. But they did. Perfect.

We are having nights that are cold enough for the smaller citrus trees to be covered with frost blankets. They days are warm and lovely, so I unwrap them for a little sunshine, then tuck them in again at dusk.

Today I did my version of Doing Nothing, which looked like a couple hours of weeding and a walk downtown to get some coffee beans and stop at the library.
