Shadow man and the old pumpkins.

Oot n aboot in the park; came across these in one of the borders at the long gone walled garden. It’s apparently encouraged to share redundant pumpkins with wildlife.

Pumpkins. Such an American thing, part of the commercialisation of Halloween. And minimum effort to carve to achieve effect.

In Scotland we used to painstakingly carve neeps to make tumshie lanterns at Halloween. This required patience and time, as well as sharp knives and other implements.
