Christmas shrub

Planted some native shrubs on the roadside out the front of our place a few years (I think) back. They've struggled, because of the clay and crappy soil - no, I didn't spend any more time than digging holes and bunging them in; total survival of the fittest here. xP Anyway, this one has flowered for Christmas. I particularly like it as it's reminiscent of the Pohutakawa back home.

Also lorikeets, which Sullivan needed to be reminded were friends, and friends best befriended from a distance ;) - up on the deck, while they're down on the fence below. He seemed to agree, but certainly kept an eye on them. ;)
