I took the old car in for a headlight bulb.

I do feel fortunate to have a friendly, trusted garage to call on. They were having a quiet day, so Norman said he'd give it a thorough check-over while I nipped off to do some work.

3 new tyres, and a cure for the whining steering later, the bill was a bit larger than the price of a headlight bulb I was expecting!
