Tea for Two and Two for Tea

It seems that birthday celebrations continue. With a gift card for afternoon tea for two at Brown’s from blippers Magpie and JustSitting tucked safely in my purse, the other birthday girl of the week, #2 daughter, and I sallied forth to reclaim it.
We were amply rewarded by a tier of sandwiches, scones and cakes and a pot of tea in a delightful setting. The pink gin was an afterthought but very acceptable. No doggy bags were required at the end which says a lot about our stamina in the eating stakes.

It was a wonderful way to celebrate our 2 birthdays and ignore the cold, dark, dank day into the bargain, a day which saw the opening of Edinburgh’s Christmas Market (which runs for 6 weeks), another ridiculous nod to the theme park that Edinburgh has become.
