glow home
I think I'll bypass the no-night-time-light-things issue by doing a week of self-portraits. If these happen to be in night-time glowing places, so be it.
Not massively inspired by anything I took in daylight today so went out for a little evening-walk, ostensibly to get some muffins and bring in the washing on the way back in but I took my tripod just in case. After a week of trying to ignore things which might look nice at night I had to delve into the mental bag of spare night-time potential blips and thus headed towards the parliament. Tried to get the lights on the steps between the Pleasance sports centre and Dumbiedykes but they were being coy in the slowly-decreasing light and refusing to all light up. Even on my way back forty minutes later they still weren't all lit. They'll wait for another time as they would look much better from above but one of the only two cars parked at the top was right in the place where the picture would need to be taken from.
Only one more day before little mini use-up-holiday midweek day off followed by one more day, one weekend then four more days then nice long weekend off followed by four more days then a week off. It seems sad to have to resort to such methods of getting through the intervening time especially when it should be a happy time of year. I think it's maybe that after craving more sunlight for four months now that it's here it's a little strange, especially when I was getting on so well with the murk and gloom this winter.
I'll go and sit under a tree in the shadows tomorrow lunchtime as a compromise.
