Winter Jasmine
This Winter Jasmine flowers at our front door which we almost never use, and so I'd not realised it had started flowering. Hope the postman and the paper boy have been enjoying this ;o) Jasmine was introduced to Britain in 1844 from China (according to the BBC website - how are these things known with such accuracy?). It makes a lovely splash of colour in the winter garden and reminds me of my childhood home where there was lots of this growing against the back of the house.
Made some chocolate banana cake this afternoon from a Nigella Lawson recipe. I'll take some with me when I visit Mum tomorrow. Sounds like she's making a good recovery after her narrow escape from Lothian Buses on Wednesday.
