Horizontal

A wild and brooding weather soaked day, darkness barely lifted. Horizontal rain put in a stubbornly long appearance and led to horizontal me as I went flying on a brand new river bed masquerading as puddle soaked grass and landed on my back with only the dogs to laugh at my scream of surprise and unexpected plunge. To be fair it's been a while since I've fallen, but then again I wouldn't want anyone to steal my clumsy crown. I have wanted to go wild water swimming for a while, but maybe not like that. All hail my recently purchased dog walking jacket for rendering me the "unsinkable folly down", it's basically a duvet from my head to toes, turns me into a walking, talking Christmas pig in a blanket.

No travelling today (apart from morning school run, 3 dog walks and a Sam pick up), but a home based day completing a funding application to a 5pm deadline. Got it done working in tandem with a colleague in Cardiff I've never even met, the wonders of modern technology helping us pull everything together and submit a joint effort on time.

Tonight there was a tough time for a family member who is struggling to keep on keepin' on, no magic wands, but always hope!

And in other news, floods, snowstorms and raging fires...the climate crisis is hard to ignore, yet we all carry on as before......
