Spean Bridge

Whether by design or coincidence we stopped at the Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge on the most appropriate day of the year, Remembrance Day. In bleak surroundings the wreaths laid yesterday left a poignant message at the feet of the sculpted soldiers with their view of snow-capped hills.
Having missed formal recognition of the day we were pleased to be able to pay our respects to those did not return and they who mourned them.
