I will remember them

Remembrance day today so I took a walk to the church after the village market. Here’s the village memorial plaque of the men who lost their lives in World War One and Two.

Poppies were dropped from a Dakota over the White Cliffs of Dover today. A lovely tribute from my friends at Aero Legends. Lest we forget.

Sunday roast at my bestie’s this afternoon. The children (age 5 and 7) are growing up fast and I was most impressed the eldest knew to wear the leaf of the poppy pointed at 11 o clock. Evacuee day at her school this week. Reminded me of my Nan who was an evacuee when she was seven years old.

A different world back then and we can only thank our ancestors for their sacrifices for our freedom today.
