Grandma's tin

I should have driven to Buxton today to meet up with Elaine and Elspeth. We had to cancel due to flooding on Elaine's route. I opened the tin again and took a photo.....see extra of all that was in it. I decided I would clean the medals and the silver. It took all morning to get the bits to some cleanliness as they were covered in years of varnish. I found the Half farthing dated 1843 with Queen Victoria on it in the silver sugar bowl. I thought it would be good to line up all the monarchs from Victoria to Elizabeth II as I had either coins or medals with their faces on. The only monarch I didn't have was Edward VIII but I remembered I had a mug with him on. You can see in the main photo how I have cleaned them to a nice shine. I know I am a hoarder just like my dad, he kept all these things from his mum. I will over time blip some of his hoardings as they are interesting.
I ran out of Brasso and needed to go to the library and shop so ventured out into the horrible cold grey day. It started raining whilst I was out and it was icy!
