Tyre profile

Tyre profile today is medium as these are the winter rim / tyre in favour of the summer low profile tyres fitted to most cars these days. I think that the rubber ( or whatever the mix is ) is provided to the manufactures if not free very cheaply the products not lasting well and offering a hard unpleasant ride. Replacements are of course more expensive and required more frequently than more sensible profiled tyre.
They are of course marketed by promoting style speed looks - personally I think massive rimed wheels with rubber bands for tyres looks ridiculous.
