Crazy colours, day 3 (wednesday)

It's time leave Isle of Skye already and head towards Glencoe.
After breakfast the group got in the car and we drove southwards.
During the day we stopped several times on beautiful locations.

We started at a waterfall, then we stopped at the Plock for a view over the Skye Bridge and after that we paused near Eilean Donan Castle.

Coffee and tea were on board and everybody had bought their lunch  at the COOP in Portree before we left. The atmosphere in the group is great. Not exuberant, but enthusiastic still. Very nice.

Somewhere in the afternoon we arrived at the famous Glenfinnan viaduct. The steam train wouldn't come, everybody knew that, but the group had a great time capturing this beautiful construction anyway.

Since I've been here before and have photos with the train already, I soon switched from capturing the viaduct to capturing the most beautiful autumn colours I've ever seen. Just amazing, all those warm tones of yellow, orange and brown. This yellow tree immediately caught my eye.

After the viaduct, we saw the sun set near the shipwreck in Corpach and Ben Nevis. The final part of todays journey I drove in total darkness via Fort William to Glencoe, to our new hotel The Isles Of Glencoe.

After dinner we were treated with some original bagpipe music and traditional (sword) dance. A great end of a great day.

We're halfway our trip now and I'm really thankful that everything is going so well. No problems on the road at all, driving on the left side has become 'natural' by now. Fingers crossed I'll stay this way for the second part of the trip.
