Remembrance Sunday
Service at the village war memorial this morning, on a thankfully dry and only slightly chilly day. This was followed by a short service at the Congregational Church. A member of the congregation there had made 2 wall hangings to show all the men from our village who had died in each of the world wars. 21 never returned from World War I, and 13 from World War 2. That would have decimated the population of our small village where the main jobs must have been in farming at the time. A quick turnaround this afternoon, then out for beer and curry.
