Beyond the fence
The 'field' on the other side of the fence was part of this old house in days gone by. It and the rest of the land were sold off, probably to raise cash in more needy times. But it was the new owner who cashed in the development potential, keeping this quarter acre for himself. Ironically, he couldn't get planning permission and it lay untouched for years before being re-acquired a few months ago by my current owners. Now they've got a job on their hands - it was completely overgrown with brambles which were chopped back after an autumn harvest but all the roots are still there!
Photographer's note: Stitched from 3 images and the first black and white shot taken since the 70s, rediscovered and inspired by several blipsters! (The image is awful in colour, by the way!)
