Russian River Brewing Company

While Matt and John were taking Ozzie for his 'sniff' this morning, the power went off...again. This time with no notification or prior warning.

I walked down the driveway and discovered our neighbor, Rob, on the phone in his driveway because that is the only place he has any reception when the power goes off. PG&E was unable to say what had caused it but the estimated time of restoration of power was 11:30am. Interesting that they didn't know the cause but knew how long it would take to fix it.

We talked generators vs solar panels and batteries for awhile and discussed the pros and cons of both expensive especially as electricians are raising their rates go install them. Which means more people will be running generators on their own creating a fire hazard on its own. Rob and his husband Jim, who wandered out while we were talking have decided they're going to their condo in Palm Springs  (We have talked about going to Oregon) next October. It's not a good time to stick around this town....

We decided to abandon ship and go to the Russian River Brewing Company. It is quite an impressive place. The red building on the left is huge and contains some enormous, three or four story tall tanks. The collection of buildings on the right contains the tasting room, a shop, and a restaurant. We sat at the bar and had a beer and some excellent sliders.

I think a customer like me, an avowed beer hater is a challenge. I had a very small glass of  'Happy Hops', which I actually quite liked except for the inevitable headache. The friendly people behind the bar took turns bringing me little tastes of different things they thought I might like.

The people sitting next to us at the bar were working their way through a full tasting flight, half of which would have put me under said bar.
Matt and John were in heaven....
