Bonfire Night
Oh, it's the mad English again, isn't it? And not even on the right date. 9th November, 5th November, what's the odds? But Winchester has had it's annual knees up and I hope the Round Table raised a ton of money for the new hospice.
This is the bonfire being ignited with a bang or two. Poor Mr Fawkes. And now the park will be so mashed underfoot no-one will be able to play sport on it until the summer. And what about the animals and birds on the next door nature reserve.
You can tell from the above that although I do love fireworks I've slightly fallen out of love with this event. The way it's done, with a candlelit parade, etc, is an old town tradition, but it's got a bit big and is now swamped with burger vans and rather grim involvements from the local radio station. And it seems to light the fuse on Christmas too..
Okay, it's late, I'm tired and I expect you are too. Have a lovely relaxed Sunday xx
