Pink Peppercorns

(Schinus molle) on the schist steps by Casa Esquível. Couldn't decide whether to Blip up into the feathery tree, all hung with pink, or down, but liked the schist, our local stone, from which stairs, floors, ceilings, door frames, pavements... are made.

Both Mike and I lost a day somehow, thought it was Friday, bit mystified as to why the men in the Adega were singing, they usually only gather at weekends. Anyway, had lunch with the team at Sr Zé's, and then ended up having to take Joel, from the team, to the health post in Reguengos, not at all well. As usual in Portugal, no explanation from the doctor, but he's on antibiotics for seven days.

And, Ana Bravo's Dad has died quite suddenly, so plans for tomorrow have altered as well, as we'll be going to Almada to hug her. Love how, as in Brazil, there's no questioning what to do, everyone knows you go see the bereaved.

Gratefuls:
- Mike laying more pavement outside the re-installed door
- finding out more about the Portuguese health system (impressed)
- picking our first pomegranate, from the bush Padre Luís gave us when we moved up here, it's a beauty
