Today was a very special day on our trip.

This was the day we went to visit Kadria’s family. We took two Gojek GoRides to quickly get us through the city traffic and then we were driven through the countryside to the family home. Out of respect for her family I will not publish the photos here but suffice to say I have never received a better welcome and hospitality in my life.

I am glad it was dark when we said our goodbyes as I was very close to tears.

The nearby volcano had been active last night so after a stunning seafood lunch the whole family took us out to get a closer look.
