One of the many timelapse projects I'll never get round to doing is photographing the rug or a patch of popular carpet every day for a while to record the gradual takeover by grubbiness, stains or ground-in particulate toddler waste. Stepped-on chalk tends to result in sore feet rather than a small pile of dust even when the feet are of an adult (at least when shoes are generally not worn inside) but they will leave a little of themselves in the carpet when they're eventually picked up after repeated requests to pick them up are finally acknowledged.
