Towers old and new
We made it to London early this evening. After the horrific shots of floods in South Yorkshire on the lunchtime news I was worried we may not have a train running, there were services to Leeds from Bradford cancelled but not our Bradford to Kings Cross thankfully. Maybe we made the right decision to travel Grand Central. When we passed through Doncaster I did see cars and caravans under water and flooded field right up o the edge of the rails so maybe we were just lucky.
The underground wasn’t as busy as I anticipated so we were soon walking past the Tower of London, seen here with the tower of The Shard in the background, to our hotel which looks out onto Tower Bridge and the River Thames of course.
A quick settling in and the we headed out for a walk around St Katharine’s Dock to find somewhere for a drink and a bite to eat. A little French place, modestly priced we felt for London.
A rest now before a full on day tomorrow.
