St Julian's
Had a late lunch today with friends who are members of St Julian's Club just outside Sevenoaks in the Weald of Kent.
The club has an interesting history. The present house was built in 1836. In 1951 it was bought by group of young families as an experiment in communal living for professional couples and their children. They provided nursery facilities to allow mothers to work. The club was formed in 1956 and is still run by one of the original families who work and live at the club, although St Julian's is now owned by a trust.
There are 78 acres of grounds and the views over the Weald of Kent are spectacular. The trees are magnificent with their autumn colour leaves. See extras.
We had a lovely lunch and ate far too much. The food was delicious with very generous portions.
Spending two consecutive days having lunch and afternoon tea with good friends is a privilege .
I drove home in the dark, and this is the farthest I have driven since my ops . So another milestone has been reached.
