Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Quiet please!

No voice today. What a nuisance. This used to happen most winter terms when I was teaching. If I had a biddable class, I’d go to work and write instructions on the blackboard. If I had a tough class, I’d stay off.

Isobel came for Archie. Being a 5th year medic, she's very very busy and has been posted off to hospitals in other towns and cities. However, she's back here for a while, and had some free time in between shifts and studying. They went away up Calton Hill. And what a lovely day it was too - no wind, but started the day at 5°!

JR popped into town in the afternoon, so I wrapped up like Nanook of the North, and Archie and I wandered over to the Links while the sun was still out.

When we came back, Archie had a long overdue haircut. He's so patient. Though he was like a naughty pupil when waiting for his tiny piece of toast this morning - he pretended he didn’t understand me when I whispered 'OK!' I had to keep repeating it, trying to get louder and louder. Funny boy.
