Diary of an Edinburgher

Good company, good scones, and good manners...

Last night's party ended when they said it would - at 11.30(pm!), when, after a raucous chorus of 'Loch Lomond' along with the epic Runrig version, they all tiptoed out, closed the door quietly, and went into town to continue all night, probably (didn’t hear them coming home). Brilliant.

We had an excellent start to the day, after gym and bike, when we met up with Jordan and Isobel at Honeycomb (https://www.honeycombandco.com/) What a wee sweetie she is. We had fantastic scones, but the breakfast menu is epic too (sweetcorn fritters!!) we must return very soon. Isobel dropped a bit of her wee rusk thing, and Archie actually refused it. First time I’ve seen that! The Links are looking splendidly autumny (Extra), so Archie had two good runarounds.

JR went off into town to recycle the used coffee pods (oh look - it's very near to John Lewis...) and I came home to await a delivery.

Two of the party boys arrived at the door with chocolates and wine to thank us for 'putting up with the noise', and to assure us that it was a 'one-off'. I am flabbergasted at such good manners and consideration of others. What charming young men they are.

Not even the political shenanigans can put me in a bad mood today!
