Save Our Planet!
Today was my second visit to the dentist in just over a week, to see the Hygienist this time. I noticed this display in the waiting room, and took a quick pic of it. It is part of the dentists' scheme to do their bit by getting their clients to take in used interdental brushes for recycling. I shall save mine for them for sure!
Last night at work we had pizza which we had delivered as neither of us could leave the shop. Ordering was a challenge as no-one takes phone orders these days - apart from the shop round the corner from my house! Fortunately for us they also do very good pizza!
In our shop, Amir doesn't answer the phone as he knows that his English is not yet to the level where he could take an order accurately. The pizza shop maybe don't have the luxury of an English person to take phone orders, though telling him what we wanted was easy - it was the address he struggled with.
The delivery driver (who spoke perfect English!) had problems finding us despite us being only two streets away from them and phoned me. When I explained where we were, he laughed - turned out his problem was caused by the fact that he could not believe people in one take away would phone to order food from another! (They probably wouldn't as their shop has a much more varied menu than we do!)
Of course when he arrived, he was followed by a swarm of customers all wanting things cooked to order or the more complicated menu items. It's a good thing pizza is just as good when it is cooled a little!
It was bonfire night last night. It was interesting explaining that custom to Amir, but I think he got it. Apparently Minstrel slept through the fireworks!
