Happy Birthday #1

It's been a strange day. The first family birthday in our house when the Birthday Boy wasn't here to celebrate it. He's away in the Lake District on a Reading Week and spent part of the day walking up Skiddaw. He's just telephoned to say he wasn't quite sure what to do when he woke up this morning, but he was greeted by a bacon butty with candles in it, and birthday songs booming out of a large speaker outside his bedroom. I am secretly chuffed that he said he was wearing the shirt I had bought him ... and he likes it. Tick in the box for me.

So the Blip. Four things that he saw on the day he was born. My Teddy Bear on the left, his Teddy Bear on the right, which was given to him by his newly named Granny (he was the first Grandchild), and in the middle "Pink". "Pink"was the first gift he ever received, from our dear friend 'Mary P', and was a favourite bedtime toy for both of our boys. She was completely convinced I would have a girl. And the backdrop, a knitted pram cover from Granny. It's brought back lots of memories getting the box out of the cupboard this evening.

In other news, thankfully #2 sat his second exam. I say this, because Network Rail decided to have a signalling failure at Glasgow Central at 0845 this morning and he got stuck on a train. It's a long story, but thankfully he managed to get off said train, CJ Taxi Services came to the rescue and got him there just in time. When he tried to get a refund for his ticket later in the day, he was told there was no record of his train being late. WHAT? The whole of the Cathcart Circle and the East Kilbride line were affected. Sounds like his cousin needs to spring into action and sort this one out ....???
