Swan Lake

This is Swan Lake in Wolsely wildlife park part of the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust. A lovely place to visit. We've seen the facilities grow over the year and it now has it's own cafe.

The swan was prepared to share its lake with mallard, Canada geese, black headed gulls and this great crested grebe. We walked around the lake and as The Man had been busy getting a shot of a robin I was quick to point out the bird on a convenient branch. Not quick enough to raise my own lens - the orange breast had belonged to a kingfisher! (Don't say I should have gone to Specsavers,I had been using my old glasses as my new ones were missing a screw!)

We then went to the garden centre next door and I bought my first-ever Christmas T-shirt!
