1552
The Old Wellington Inn in Shambles Square was originally built in 1552 and is the only surviving Tudor building in Manchester city centre.
In 1974, apparently most of the buildings around the Shudehill and Market Street area were demolished to allow for the building of the Arndale Centre. The buildings within Shambles Square had to be lifted by four feet to fit in with the rest of the surrounding development.
In 1996, the buildings in Shambles Square were little affected by the bomb due to the surrounding concrete buildings. As part of the redevelopment that followed the explosion, this old building and it's neighbour were dismantled and moved 300 metres to their current position near the cathedral (thanks wikipedia).
If you live near Manchester, it is Manchester History Festival in just under a couple of weeks. LINK
