Great Haywood Junction
Today was the annual meeting of the boat syndicate, which was why we were in Great Haywood. We started the day with coffee in the canalside café while Clickychick recharged her laptop and put the finishing touches to a presentation she was making. All rather last minute but the site's electrics weren't working because of the floods.
After the meeting we called in to the canalside farm shop before having a walk to take some photos. This shot is of a boat taking on water at the Junction between the Staffordshire & Worcestershire canal and the Trent & Mersey. The bridge to the right is a "turnover bridge" these bridges were designed to allow a horse pulling a boat to change sides of the canal or in this case get on to the S & W canal without the rope being disconnected because it went over the bridge.
