A Day At A Time.

Merseyside

We arrived without incident to a Liverpool, grey and drizzly. Much as expected really.

However, the rain stopped and so David and I set out on a nostalgic tour of our old haunts, most of which had not witnessed our presence since 1980.

Erics, the club opposite the Cavern, where we saw fresh new acts like the Boomtown Rats, is now closed and moved next door, but the old door remains.

Later we dined opposite the Philharmonic Hall, where we and our first wives graduated in 1980 and 81, and where Marillion were playing the opening night of their anniversary tour.

The concert was fantastic, with such emotion and energy.

We staggered back to our hotel with Estonia and New Kings ringing round our heads.
