Chihuahua why did I pick this breed?I have always had a love for dogs.

I grew up around springer spaniels and Yorkshire terriers, but during my 20s I met up with a dog that would change my life, his name was Ben a tiny smooth coat Black and Tan chihuahua, I'd only ever seen them in books or on TV but boy was he a character, small in size but massive in nature. From that day on I knew one day I'd own a chihuahua.

Chihuahuas come as two seperate breeds long coated( Roo) or smooth coated (Bean), you cannot legally breed the two together, the name chihuahua comes from the Mexican state, but it's not known if they really originated there.

They became a very popular breed a few years ago as the celebrities started to buy them and they became the Vogue dog! This didn't help the breed as they aren't handbag dogs, they love walking.

I must be very lucky as my chihuahuas are therapy dogs ( I have three that are) my fellow blipper and friend KoKo has also got 3 that are therapy dogs, I believe in the UK they have 10 working chihuahua therapy dogs so I think we either fell lucky or are doing something right.
