Newcastle

Upto Newcastle by train on Saturday for a weekend away. Left Kings Cross at 11am and were soon pulling into Newcastle Central at 2pm - so quick! Taxi to the new and sumptuous Hotel Du Vin near the quayside - first impressions very good. Friendly staff, fabulous room with roll-top bath and nice touches like fresh milk in the fridge for tea.

After a short rest we walked along the quayside, across the Millennium Bridge, had a quick look at the Yoko Ono exhibition in the Baltic, then into town for a very good Italian meal.

All the prelude to the main purpose of the trip - seeing the awesome Killers in concert at the Metro Radio Arena. Great seats, and they were fantastic.

Got soaked walking back to the hotel unfortunately but robes and mini-bar drinks soon made up for that.
