Tannahill's resting place
Tannahill was born on June 3rd 1774 in Paisley. He was known as the "Weaver Poet".
Paisley. He was apprenticed to his father as a handloom weaver. He showed talent as a poet and also wrote songs, the most famous being The Braes of Balquhidder.
He is buried at Castlehead Cemetry.
