Books

As I mentioned in the blip the day before yesterday, I'm joining a book circle. I like to read - I'm rather addicted to books, so why not meet some people to discuss books. :) Yesterday I got a message from the library that the book I've reserved had arrived to the library. The wonders of technology made it impossible for me to lend the book myself via the 'book lending machine' - or whatever the computerized system for book lending is called. ;) It said, flashing in red and with a rather loud sound, that this book couldn't be lent to me and I went to ask a personnel. It appeared the case was that another person also had reserved the book (perhaps we're coming to the same book circle??) and the computer system had for some strange reason bypassed me and jumped straight to the next person in 'line'. But, the book went to 'my' library and the document in the book said it was for me. The library lady fixed the problem, although she was really baffled that it had happened.

This book that I'm 'required' to read before the book circle meeting on the 24'th of January isn't a book I would have chosen myself. By some strange coincident one of the TV channels showed the filmed version some weeks ago, so I looked sporadicly at it.
The book is 'Into the wild' by Jon Krakauer, the one that is bottom first in this pile. Oh, well... I'll skim through it so I have something to say at the meeting. May be I'll change my opinion to - that has happened!

Book number 2 I got from my cousin this christmas, 'Absolute friend' by John le Carré. I'm not really fond of le Carré, but my cousin is and keep giving me books by him. But, I must confess, I like this book! It's better - in my mind - then the ones I've read before. :)
And, then the last book, the most important one: 'The Master and Margarita' (I don't know if that's the actual english title) by Michail Bulgakow. Also given to me by my cousin and a turning point for me when it comes to literature. This is the 'before and after' book, so to speak and I started reading new and different things after reading this book. :)
A lot of book talk in this blip...
I hope everyone has a great weekend! :)
