Beinn Dorain

Driving to Ballachulish for a photography masterclass tomorrow. I stopped at the side of the road north of Tyndrum for this view of Beinn Dorain in sunshine.

I intended my main stop for photos to be in Glen Orchy. The main falls on the River Orchy proved to be  bit of a challenge. The scramble down to the level of the river was more than I was willing to risk. There should be excellent views from an estate bridge over the river, but the sides of the girder bridge were high and covered in mesh. I resorted to lifting the camera way above my head on a folded tripod, and squeezing one arm with my small Pen-F through a gap. Neither technique helped careful composition!

I went on to Lochawe to photograph Kilchurn Castle in fading light. Crossing the railway footbridge for a view across the loch to the castle, I was more taken with the abandoned second platform - see extra.
