Chute-Butler piano

A guy named Butler was an entrepreneurial whiz kid in 1900 in Marion, IN. He moved around a lot and started little companies everywhere he went. One of those was a small piano and organ building company in Peru. At one point, they were selling a piano every day. You may or may not recall the days when everyone had a piano at home. He made a ton of money but also sold quality pianos. Many of them are still in very good condition even though the company is long out of business.
This painting is of the Chute Butler piano housed (and played regularly) at the Miami County museum. The gallery has a really fun window this month (I'll show you soon!) that needed a piano in it.
