Friday Goodbye

These are my two Friday classes. The top one is my youngest class. The kids are 4 and 5 years old and are such a total delight to teach. THey come into the school and have HUGE smiles on their faces when they see me and we have a special greeting that I always share with my younger classes. They are not happy until the greeting is done and we say hello to each other. My co-teacher Sunny Has only recently taken over the class from a teacher who left but is doing a really good job.

In the bottom picture is the second class I teach with Kathleen. I have taught this class since they started at the school.. SOme of the kids started in kindergarten classes and most of the others started once they got into our higher set of books. Either way, for most of them, I have always been their foreign teacher. This class is hard work. There are three or four kids in this class who are absolute daydreamers. It is a constant struggle to keep their attention on what the rest of the class is doing. It is at the same time a class full of wonderful characters and a few kids who have REALLY touched my heart. They are all great kids, it's just that some of them are not the best students. Some should be learning creative stuff but that's not the way it works here. The number of Friday nights I had to almost scream myself hoarse with this class to keep their attention.... Ahhhhhhh But it was VERY VERY tough to say goodbye.
