Blacksmith Day

Dieter came this morning to do Sultan who will now go barefoot for a while. Not the best time of year to take off the irons so as to allow hoof to get used to but we'll see. If we have lots of snow & not too much hard ice, then it should be OK. As far as we know, Sultan was previously barefoot.
Dieter has now traded in his Fiat van for a 5.7 liter (converted for gas) Dodge Ram 1500. His hobby is historical (ca 12C) reenactments with his horse & he drives all over the place to meetings. He has built the Dodge such that he can quickly remove all his blacksmith gear, pack his camping equipment and hitch up trailer & horse.
