Halloween
The old window is revealed , now that the 8ft lonicera has been removed. Sad to see it go but it had collapsed and the fitters will need the space to replace the window. We've dragged several pots in front to make it look less raw. The spindle is hanging on to its red leaves and looks great in contrast against the 'Mexican orange'
We may have to wait 6 weeks for the new window although as it is only a small job compared to doing a full house they say they may be able to 'fit us in ' earlier
Called at the post office to return the too small dog coat , walked up to the park with Fletch then home to load up the Rav with 4 large bags of the cut down lonicera to take it to the recycle centre.
Pile of washing done and a bit of shopping at the Coop... so convenient
As it was Halloween Fletchs 'teatime' walk was earlier at 4 pm but it felt later, not just because of the time difference but also because it was a very grey overcast sky.
We were prepared for lots of children wandering the streets up to mischief but it's been quiet tonight . Quite a few houses decorated so maybe the Halloween fun was inside. Brought back memories of our Halloween. Carved out turnip lanterns ( no pumpkins) bob apple, apple on a string... and trying to peel an apple so the skin comes off in one go. , throwing it over your shoulder and seeing what letter shape it fell into .. The letter was supposed to reveal your future husband's initials. Strangely I always got M or S.. and those are my husbands initials ! Lol
Happy Halloween
