Giant Wasps nest

Went for a walk into the forest, very misty and rather dreich, but still quite wonderful.   A few weeks ago Richard came upon this wasps nest, it is very large...see extras for close ups.....and he foolishly gave it a poke.    He got a bit of a sting and quite a good warning!  i did notice there was a solitary wasp sitting on the top of the nest, just waiting!!!!   I didn't touch it!

Back in to the pottery preparing for the last of the seasons shows, 2 in early December, then i'm done for 2019!
